The longtime Chelsea teammates went head to head in the MLS All-Star game Thursday at Avaya Stadium in San Jose, California, and it was Drogba who quite literally got the last laugh.
With Drogba scheduled to only play the opening 45 minutes, the Montreal Impact star scored with the final kick of the first half to equalize for the MLS All-Stars against Arsenal after Joel Campbell's opener from the spot.
All-Star midfielder Sacha Kljestan played in a through ball to Giovani dos Santos, who found Drogba in prime position. Cech charged out to deny his old friend, but Drogba pounced on the rebound and, after seeing his second effort blocked off the line, finally prodded home his third effort.
Arsenal ultimately claimed a 2-1 win on Chuba Akpom's late winner, but Chelsea legend Drogba will still relish notching one more goal against the Blues' North London rival.
The strike came a day after Cech joked to reporters that he couldn't bear conceding against Drogba, saying "obviously I hope that he doesn't score because then for a whole year he would text me a picture of the goal."
Well you came close Petr, but no cigar.
